Materials & Composition: Handmade from 100% terracotta with a matte black textured finish, offering a raw and organic aesthetic. Porous in nature, it is best to use a watertight vessel inside before filling with water. The Burnt Black pieces achieve their characteristic hazy matte-black hue through double firing the terracotta. In the second firing, the primitive fire kiln is covered with sand, causing smoke to transform classic orange terracotta to coveted moody black.
